G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-Layla Smith-De Havilland pushed the off button on her alarm clock.She opened her navy blue eyes and stretched.Today was the first day of 8th grade,and summer was officially over. Wow Layla thought hazily.Summer is officially over.How did it get by so fast?But Layla knew the answer.See,she was born into the stardom,and had been in the eye of the public since she was a baby.This summer,she had been busy with her highly successful career,and filmed the newest Blockbuster hit "Supernova",which was about a princess from space that has superhuman powers,but gets thrown into earth and has to learn how to be disguise herself in the human world.It was fun filming,as Layla had already decided,but after filming she only had a month left of her vacation,and that barely left her anytime for herself with all the press work,school shopping,and hanging out with her friends.

Layla trudged out of bed and stepped onto her fuzzy white rug.She searched the floor for her pink Ralph Lauren slippers and walked to her closet,which was actually a room with lots of different racks of designer clothes and a huge vanity where her make-up artist,Janet,did her make-up generally before any big movie premiere or press meet.

Layla walked to the part of her closet where it had her clothes.She stared blankly at it for a minute and tried to take it all in.She picked up a plaid skirt and and a black tank top with a gray vest.At HPA,every week there was a theme that you had to go by,not a dress code,but a theme you had to go by,except for free dress day,which was every Friday.

Layla walked out of her clothes section and went over to the makeup section,where she had full access She picked of her black Sephora makeup pencil and put it on her lids(top and bottom),then she found the Maybeline mascara and put it on her long lashes.She scanned the huge masses of M.A.C eyeshadow(she had every color) for charcoal,then she took the brush and put it on her eyelids,being careful not to look like a tramp.When she was done she walked over to the mirror to physic herself up for the long day ahead.

Layla put her hand on her right hand on her hip."Now do I look gorgeous,or do I look gorgeous?"Then as she pretended the mirror was giving her a an answer,she said in her best southern accent."Now why thank you darlin` your lookin` awful polished n` shined."and exited the "closet" and walked into her room,grabbed her book bag,and walked out of her room.

Layla walked down the huge staircase and walked into the dining room where her mother,Stacy,and her agent,Jordan were waiting.They were smiling,and Layla could feel that it was major.

"Hi mom.Hi Jordan.What`s the big news?"

Stacy and Jordan looked at each other with there huge smiles and Stacy said "You know how you had a meeting with Dana Yeller about your idea`s for a book?"

"Yes."Layla said as she inhaled quickly.She had always wanted to be a writer after she couldn't act anymore.She had an idea that she couldn`t get out of her head that she needed to have written as a book.

"Well....I sent your idea to Janet Leose,and she liked it.Alot.She wants to work with you and make it into a novel."

Layla felt faintish."But she`s the...is the...the best novelist of the century,so far!",she cried out."And she likes MY idea?"

"Yes."Jordan said.

Layla sat down on the velvet cushion,dazed."I can`t believe it.And I still have to go to school and receive more great news.I can`t wait to tell my friends about this!"Layla hopped out of the chair with her sudden new enthusiasm.She walked towards the door with a small skip in her pace.

"Hold it!"Jordan said,grabbing her arm."

Layla patted her arm gingerly."Ow.I don`t want to be bruised on my first day of school!What`s the problem?Why can`t I tell my best friends?I`ll only tell them,no one else.I promise."Layla held up her pinkie and looked at him squarely in the eye.

"Because"Jordan started."Janet wants to keep this a top secret project.If anything gets out about this,she`s going to not help you write the book."Jordan went over to the table and shuffled through his briefcase."And to assure nothing comes out of this,sign this contract." he said handing her a pen.

Layla straightened up her shoulders and took the pen and signed it.In the contract it said that she would have to have lessons with Janet,so that she could learn to write like her,and that she not leak any information,because this could be a big hit.

After she signed the contract Layla gave him back his pen and confidently strutted toward the door.She knew all about contracts,and being the huge star she was,she couldn'tbreak any contract without the press immediately hounding her down,which by the way,they did anyway.But Layla knew what would happen when she entered the business,and she knew the perks and disapointments,and the perks weighed out more than the punishments.

"Wait!Layla we have something to tell-"

"Tell me after school,I`m going to be late if I don`t leave in another 3 minutes."Layla said looking at her iPhone."But you can tell me on the way home,okay?"

As Layla walked off,she didn`t hear what Stacy and Jordan said to each other.

"Layla just got out some other big news.Do you think she`ll be excited when she hears?"asked Stacy to Jordan.

"I don`t know of anyone who wouldn`t be."replied Jordan."I have an appointment with Haylie Kreisler.I`ll be back later."






You may be wondering what The Hollywood Princess Academy,(HPA) is?It`s a school that is hidden in Beverly Hills,where all the most famous teen actresses,or big actresses in training go to school(You can`t get in unless you have some sort of big future ahead of you).All the "most wanted" starlets go here and hang out.This school is the most privileged school in the LA area,so if your famous and word gets out that you didn`t get in,than your absolutely downgraded from the A-List to the F-List.
